On the third drilling session, the plug fell away. When the debris mounds again, clean the area again, clean the bit again, add oil, and begin again. Also clean off the bit with a paper towel. After a short time, when drilling debris mounds, stop and clean the debris out of the area (using a paper towel, and then a very small screwdriver to get the debris out of the circle created by the bit).

Keep hands ready to catch the machine in case it falls through quickly, while drilling a fragile item. Apply no downward pressure (per instructions, allowing the weight of the Dremel to be the only thing applying downward pressure).

The process is as folllows: install the bit, place a drop of oil on the bottom of the item, set the Dremel to 15,000 RPM (the instructions say to go no higher than this), turn on the Dremel, place the bit onto the spot to be drilled, and hold it in place.

I started with three teacups (see photo), to make sure that it would work, and everything went perfectly. This Dremel drill bit is working very well for a DIY project, in which I am drilling holes in the bottoms of various things to turn them into flowerpots.
