Then I basically stole the structure of Dazed and Confused and used that to lay the groundwork during outlining.īut honestly the biggest factor was that I had a job starting in a few weeks that would take up all of my time, so I decided to take advantage of my time off and write every day. It was a high school day-in-the-life type thing, so I had plenty of memories and actual events to pull from.

One of the main reasons it went so quick was because it was the first script I'd written based off personal experiences. Once I actually decided to write it I did a week of constant outlining and then two weeks of script writing, so I'd still consider it under 30 days of writing/outlining altogether. But I should say the two weeks was the actual script writing and I did a bit of outlining on and off the month before. I wrote a script in about two weeks last year, and surprisingly it turned out to be one of my favorite scripts despite its flaws.
